City of Springfield DPW Solid Waste Collection Schedule for Thanksgiving Holiday

|   City News

The City of Springfield Department of Public Works would like to notify residents that there will be no collection of trash, yard waste, recycling or bulk item materials on Thursday, November 24, 2022, due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. Residents normally scheduled for trash, recycling and yard waste on Thursday, November 24th will have their items picked up on Saturday, November 26, 2022.

The Solid Waste Division reminds residents to place their items on the curb by 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26th.

In addition, due to the large volumes of Yard Waste over the last two weeks, DPW Solid Waste crews are running 1-2 days behind with yard waste collection.  DPW will continue to pick up and collect yard waste into the month of December – weather permitting.  Prior to stopping yard waste collection DPW will provide as much notice as possible to ensure that residents have enough lead time to meet the final collection dates.  Please assist the collection crews by making your yard waste as accessible as possible.

Additionally, residents can also bring their yard and leaf waste to the Bondi’s Island drop-off at no charge during their regular operating hours Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 3:15pm, and Saturday from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm.

For additional information on collection days’ residents can call the City’s 311 Call Center at (413) 736-3111.
