If you have been out and about in downtown Springfield recently, you may have noticed the addition of new banners in the neighborhood. These new Destination Downtown banners are part of the Springfield Business Improvement District’s (“the BID’s”) downtown banner program. They were designed in partnership with artist Jose Figueroa.
Jose Figueroa is a photographer that is currently based in Springfield, and he has been doing photography for almost 2 years now. Jose specializes in drone photography and all-around content creating that involves a drone. He loves taking photos of landscapes, especially unique locations like the “White Pocket” in Arizona, in which you need a 4x4 off road vehicle to get to. Jose is currently represented by AirFig Productions and has traveled to 20 states in the USA for photography. He has been featured by DJI, Complex, VisitMA, PassionPassport, and much more.
"Right now, I’m passionate about showcasing the city of Springfield and its beauty." Which was why the Springfield BID decided to partner with Jose when designing the new banners downtown. Jose's photos are beautiful, bright, and vibrant. They are the perfect addition to downtown.
Jose’s work will be on display this November as the Artist of the Month at the Valley Photo Center. On November 17th, he will be at the gallery from 6pm - 8pm for a meet and greet and to talk about his pieces and the stories behind his photos. The Valley Photo Center is located on the Upper Level of Tower Square, 1500 Main St. in Springfield.
