Mayor Sarno and City Officials Celebrate Grand Opening of Love Your Laundry

|   City News

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, City Councilors Melvin Edwards and Sean Curran, and State Representative Carlos Gonzalez joined with Leo Florian and Shane Milette from the South End Citizens Council, and Jeb Balise, owner and CEO of Balise Motor Sales, for the grand opening of Love Your Laundry, a new laundry facility that opened in the South End neighborhood at 470 Main Street.

Love Your Laundry, a large clothes-laundering facility with self-service machines as well as drop-off wash/dry/fold services, is now open in Springfield. The store, located at 470 Main Street, is fully staffed with a team of attendants and will be open seven days a week. Store hours are 7 am to 8 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 8 am to 8 pm, Sunday, with the final wash of the day due in by 8 pm.  Cash, debit, and credit cards are all accepted forms of payment.

The self-service portion of the facility offers high-speed Continental brand washers and dryers, which allow a load of laundry to be washed and dried in under an hour. Each extra-large machine can hold the equivalent of 13 standard loads of laundry, and the wash cycle includes ozone sanitization for the ultimate level of cleaning.  Self-service customers who bring their children are encouraged to use the facility’s Family Read Play Learn space while they wait. This literacy- focused waiting area is continuously stocked with children’s books, which patrons are encouraged to take home.

Customers may also drop off their laundry for full-service wash, dry, and fold, which also includes ozone sanitization. All full-service loads will be ready for pick up the next day, completely folded and packaged to preserve cleanliness.

Commercial laundering services are also available for restaurants, caterers, hotels and inns, vacation rental properties, salons and spas, and other businesses.

Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank Jeb Balise and his team for their continued belief and investment in our city of Springfield.  This $10 million economic development investment continues to support Jeb’s commitment to our Springfield community.  He and his Balise Motor Sales company continue to be great corporate citizens for our Springfield, especially for our South End neighborhood.  This is another economic development project that continues to build upon our overall economic development opportunities.  It’s all about that good four-letter word – JOBS!"
