Mayor Sarno stated, “The city of Springfield and our Springfield Police Department can take pride in knowing that through your continuous dedicated efforts you have kept our city safe and enhanced the quality of life for our residents. In your line of work, you see it all – the good, the bad and the ugly. Though you are faced often with unpleasant situations, you go about the business of protecting and serving the citizens of Springfield with the utmost professionalism, courage, honor, and compassion. On behalf of the citizens of Springfield, thank you for your commitment to keeping our streets and neighborhoods safe. I wish you an evening filled with friends, laughter and reflection, and I thank you once again for all your hard work and selfless service. Tonight, is your night. Congratulations and enjoy!
