Mayor Sarno stated, “CDO Tim Sheehan and I are excited to be a part of the EDC’s Western Mass Anchor Collaborative. This initiative supports my administration’s efforts to serve as an economic engine to provide outreach and invest in our local and diverse workforce, and to increase local, minority and women-owned businesses through supporting their business model and gain access to the state and municipal procurement process for contracts to grow and enhance their business model, while also increasing local suppliers for goods, services and materials. This public and private partnership will work together to advocate for policy change, increase local diverse procurement and inclusive hiring practices, and review each institution’s ability to create opportunities by sharing best practices and other strategies to help everyone achieve their goals. In short, this is all about that good four-letter word, JOBS!”
