Mayor Sarno presented Peter with a mayoral proclamation declaring Wednesday, September 21, 2022 as ‘Peter Goonan Day’ in the City of Springfield. Councilors Lederman and Click-Bruce presented a City Council Citation honoring Peter for his years and service for our Springfield community.
Mayor Sarno states, “Congratulations Peter on a well-deserved official retirement. Your professionalism and good sense of humor was truly appreciated – you always had a knack for getting and reporting on a story. For over three decades you covered the news here in the city of Springfield and provided our residents and business community with the information they needed. On behalf of the city of Springfield, we wish you good health and continued success in all of your retirement adventures, including serving as the President for the Valley Press Club where we will have some fun tomorrow night!”
