Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Ward 1 City Councilor Maria Perez, School Committee member Joesiah Gonzalez, State Representative Carlos Gonzalez, and Lamari Jackson from State Senator Adam Gomez’s Office joined with David Cruise, President of the Regional Employment Board, Britt Ruhe of Commonwealth Murals, Jose Claudio from New North Citizens Council (NNCC), and students and artist from Fresh Paint Springfield and Common Wealth Murals for a special unveiling of a mural at the NNCC Youth Services Center on Bernie Ave in the North End. Mayor Sarno brought greetings and presented mayoral citations to the artists.

New North Citizens Council produced the mural in collaboration with Commonwealth Murals.  It represents the staff and students from NNCC’s Youth Build Program.  The program offers youth and young adults to finish high school and learn a trade.

Mayor Sarno states, “such a wonderful and vibrant mural that reflects the beautiful mosaic of our city.  I want to thank the New North Citizens Council for their continued support and belief in our Springfield.  They provide so much for our community, especially for our families in the North End.  Special thanks and shoutout to Britt Ruhe of Commonwealth Murals, Fresh Paint Springfield, and all of the talented artists and students.”
