Mayor Domenic J. Sarno stopped by the School Department today to wish William ‘Bill’ Baker a very happy and health retirement. Baker is retiring after a distinguished 40-year career, most recently serving as the Director of Safety and Security for our Springfield Public Schools. Previously, he served as the Dean of Students at Duggan Middle School and was a Mathematics Teacher. Baker began his career as a police cadet with the Springfield Police Department and also worked at Smith & Wesson in production, safety and security and accounting.
