Mayor Domenic J. Sarno was thrilled to receive a visit today from Woo Sox Chief Ambassador Rick Medeiros and mascots Smiley Ball and Woofster. The Worcester Red Sox, or “Woo Sox,” are a professional minor league baseball team and the Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate. Today, Worcester Red Sox Chief Ambassador Rick Medeiros and team representatives stopped by to say hello to Mayor Sarno during their visit to Springfield.
Mayor Sarno states, “I am so happy that Mr. Medeiros, smiley, and Woofster were able to make it to Springfield for a visit – they showed us a great time when we visited Polar Park for 413 Night at the Woo Sox. It’s such an intimate and modern park – you’re one step away from the show. The park was filled with a family fun atmosphere with great hospitality. Thank you Mr. Medeiros and the whole Woo Sox organization – it was a pleasure to see you here in Springfield.”
