Mayor Sarno and Mayoral Aide Marrero Joined with the Springfield Puerto Rican Parade Committee to Announce Puerto Rican Parade Kick Off

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Mayoral Aide Mini Marrero and City Clerk Gladys Oyola joined with the Springfield Puerto Rican Parade Committee, State Representative Carlos Gonzalez, State Senator Adam Gomez, City Council President Jesse Lederman, Councilor Maria Perez, Board of Police Commissioners Norman Roldan and Madeline Fernandez, and other officials to announce the kickoff of the Springfield Puerto Rican Parade on Wednesday, August 10th at Palate Restaurant. The event announced the 2022 parade honorees and feature this year’s Parade Grand Marshal, state Senator Adam Gomez.

Mayor Sarno states, “I am proud to join with the Springfield Puerto Rican Parade Committee as we continue to celebrate Springfield’s vibrant and diverse community with the announcement of the Puerto Rican Parade.  The Puerto Rican community have contributed so much to our Springfield, the Commonwealth and the Nation, especially in business, education, medical, public safety, public service and in the United States Armed Forces – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.  My administration is proud to support and recognize the great contributions Puerto Ricans have made in the world.”
