Mayor Sarno Visits Parks & Recreation Summer Program Family Field Day at Central High School

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno visited with students, staff, parents, and grandparents too, including State Representative Bud L. Williams, as well as program partners of the city’s Parks and Recreation 21st CCLC Summer Enrichment Program for their summer Family Field Day event that took place at the Central High School football field on Monday.

The Family Field Day event featured games, snacks, and special guests from the Springfield Fire Department, Springfield Water and Sewer Commission, ReGreen Springfield, Next Level Adventures, Silvio O. Conte Wild Life Refuge, ART-ventures for Kids, and UMass Nutrition.

Mayor Sarno states, “This was a great event that brought together a number of great partners for a day of family fun. I got soaked – but didn’t mind at all on this hot humid day. Thank you to our Parks and Recreation team, headed by Channing Calcasola, for hosting today and for your work to make these summer programs possible for our students and families. A big shout out to our dedicated Springfield Fire Department for joining with us and keeping everyone cool. I wish all a safe, healthy, and enjoyable rest of your summer and great start to the new school year.”
