Mayor Sarno Receives Update on the Western Mass Italian Cultural Festival from the Italian Cultural Center

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Chief Development Officer Tim Sheehan and Chief of Staff Tom Ashe met with Charles Becker, President of the Italian Cultural Center of Western Massachusetts, South End Citizens Council President Leo Florian and Mrs. Silvestri today to receive an update on the plans for the Western Massachusetts Italian Cultural Festival on Sunday, October 9, 2022. The event will be held at the Italian Cultural Center at 56 Margaret Street in Springfield and will include Italian folk music, dancing and authentic Italian food and drinks.

Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank Charles Becker, Leo Florian and their respective organizations, and all of the benefactors for making this authentic Italian tradition possible.  This festival will acknowledge our Italian-American culture, honor our Italian heritage and recognize the tremendous positive impact Italian-Americans have had upon our nation, the Commonwealth and our City of Springfield.  As a first generation Italian-American myself, I am looking forward to the live music, good food, and family fun entertainment to honor our Italian heritage.”
