Attorney Talia Gee sits down with High School Students to Discuss City’s efforts on Diversity and Inclusion

Attorney Gee stated, “It was a good discussion with the three high school students where we talked about my former role as the city of Springfield’s first Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer.  There is much to be proud of as we continue to work together to make our Springfield more inclusive and welcoming.  The city’s first ever Springfield Pride Parade was a tremendous success and showed the great diversity and inclusion of our community.  I am looking forward to continuing to work with the organizers as we make this wonderful event an annual tradition.  Also, under Mayor Sarno’s leadership, the city has been welcoming to many great initiatives and efforts to make working for the city more inclusion and welcoming.  From the creation of a Parental Leave Lactation Room in City Hall to the numerous outreach initiatives developed to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in hiring, career development and leadership opportunities in support of our city’s strategic plan to continue to foster a working environment, where all have an opportunity to succeed.”
