‘Movies in the Park’ Returning this Summer

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Patrick Sullivan, Executive Director of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management (PBRM), Assistant Director of PBRM Peter Krupczak and PBRM Coordinator Tom Dougal joined with East Springfield Neighborhood Council President Kathy Brown and the East Springfield Neighborhood Council at Marshall Roy Park for a joint announcement to announce the return of ‘Movies in the Park,’ the city’s public movie nights being held in Springfield’s parks once again this summer. The movie series will be begin on Monday, July 11th to Friday, July 29th, with all showings at 8:15 p.m. The complete movie schedule is below.

Mayor Sarno stated, “My administration is committed to continuing to enhance the quality of life for our residents with these types of family fun entertainment are more important than ever as we return to a sense of normalcy. What better way to celebrate summer than with this great family friendly activity, outdoors in our beautiful park system. We are especially lucky to have the legendary Sy Becker – ‘with another look at the movies’ – being part of this great series and to have the direction of Pat Sullivan and his dedicated Parks team.”

Patrick Sullivan stated, “We appreciate Mayors Sarno’s commitment to restore programming and activities for our residents. Movies in the park provide an opportunity for the whole family to be together under the stars and enjoying time together. Bring your favorite movie snack and have a good time!”

Wednesday July 13th – Calhoun Park – Encanto

Thursday July 14th – Myrtle Street Park - Encanto

Friday July 15th – Nathan Bill Park – Encanto

 

Week 2:

Monday, July 18th - Marshall Roy Park – Sing 2

Wednesday July 20th – Calhoun Park – Sing 2

Thursday July 21st – Myrtle Street Park - Sing 2

Friday July 22nd – Nathan Bill Park – Sing 2

 

Week 3:

Monday, July 25th - Marshall Roy Park – Space Jam A New Legacy

Additionally, Behavioral Health Network (BHN) has partnered with the East Springfield Neighborhood Council to offer free COVID-19 vaccination clinic for ages 6 months and older during each movie night at Marshall Roy Park from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
