Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined today with Goodwill President and CEO Joanne Hilferty and Board members for the ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of their new Pioneer Valley Job Training and Operations Center at 245 Cadwell Drive. Also joining was City Council President Jesse Lederman. Mayor Sarno was thrilled to see his friend and fellow Mount Carmel parishioner Gina Rueli. He also ran into High School of Commerce class of 1981 classmate Angie Brown and met Ricky Washington who shared his story of success with the programs offered at Goodwill.
Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank Goodwill President and CEO Joanne Hilferty, the Board of Directors and the entire team at Goodwill for their continued belief and investment in our city of Springfield, and just as important, the human spirit. This new job training and operations center will help Goodwill serve our community and train individuals for employment thanks to a new computer lab, classroom space and distribution center that will serve to help collect and process donations.”
