Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Congressman Richard E. Neal, a 1967 Tech graduate, and Mr. Tech High Alumni Mike Borecki joined with Tech alumni and friends for the Tech Rally 2022 today. Attendees gathered this morning at Tech High School for a ceremony and then continued with a parade to City Hall where the celebrations took place.
Tech Alumni traveled from as far as Alaska today to reunite at the Tech Rally 2022. Springfield Police and Fire Departments joined for the parade, as well as T-Birds mascot Boomer and a motorcade of classic cars. Tech Rally 2022 organizers announced and unveiled a Tech-themed wreath to honor all Veterans who are also graduates of Tech High which was laid at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial monument today. Also in attendance at the Tech Rally were Central High School AFJROTC, Springfield Director of Veterans Services and Tech High alum Tom Belton, Springfield City Councilor Jesse Lederman, and School Committee Woman LaTonia Monroe-Naylor.
Mayor Sarno stated, “I want to thank Mike Borecki. Mr. Tech High does so much for our community and his passion for his beloved Tech High is second-to-none. His efforts in organizing this Tech Rally 2022 event for all Tech High alumni is deeply appreciated and even though I am a High School of Commerce alumnus, I was honored to join as an honorary Tech Tiger for the day. Thank you Mike for your efforts in making this a special event for all of our Technical High School alumni.”
