|   City News

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, State Senator Adam Gomez, State Representative Carlos Gonzalez and Executive Office of House and Economic Development (EOHED) Secretary Michael Kennealy met with members from the Hispanic American Institute today to discuss the continued investment and growth opportunities for our residents and business community, especially for our minority and English as a second language population.

Mayor Sarno states, “The COVID-19 pandemic has exasperated the challenges our small businesses have to deal with, especially our minority owned businesses.  I want to thank the Baker-Polito Administration, Secretary Mike Kennealy and our state delegation especially Senator Adam Gomez and Representative Carlos Gonzalez for their continued leadership and advocacy on behalf of our residents and business community to provide good investment and economic development opportunities.  Special thanks to the John Perez and his team at the Hispanic American Institute for the terrific work they do in assisting our local minority owned small businesses and helping them navigate the processes and procedures so that they can receive the assistance and funding they need and qualify for.  My dedicated city team will continue to work together with the Governor Baker, Secretary Kennealy and our state delegation as we work together to move our city of Springfield forward by creating good housing and economic development opportunities and more of that good four letter word – JOBS.”
