The Springfield Police Department is issuing a traffic advisory for the Metro area of the city on Saturday June 4th. The city is hosting the Holyoke Community College Commencement at the MassMutual Center Saturday morning along with the Springfield PRIDE parade which runs through the afternoon in Court Square. In the afternoon and early evening the Springfield Thunderbirds will be hosting a block party prior to their Calder Cup playoff game Saturday night. There is also a high school graduation Saturday evening at Symphony Hall.
Court Street will be closed from East Columbus Avenue to Main Street from 8:00 a.m. until an undetermined time. Based on the number of people attending the Springfield PRIDE parade additional streets or sections of streets may need to be temporarily closed.
The Springfield Police Department is urging visitors to the city on Saturday for any of these events to plan ahead and arrive early.
