Mayor Sarno thanks Parks and Recreation Works for Beautification Efforts Across City

|   City News

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno stopped by Atwater Road yesterday to thank crewmembers from the Springfield Department of Parks and Recreation as they begin the beautification efforts to kick off the spring season with the planting of flowers and fresh mulch.

Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank PBRM Director Patrick Sullivan, our dedicated Parks and Recreation crews for the great work they do day in and day out for our parks and open spaces.  Special shout out to Sheriff Nick Cocchi and his crews for the community projects they do working with our Parks and Facilities Department to help maintain and keep our parklands and city buildings clean.  This tremendous program not only gives back to the community but teaches valuable job skills such as landscaping, painting, carpentry, waste disposal and other daily tasks that help keep our Springfield beautiful.”
