Having smart, strong and capable women in leadership positions is extremely important. My administration is proud to support and promote a diverse field of highly educated and capable women into leadership positions in the City of Springfield – from our City’s first female Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood, first Latina City Clerk Gladys Oyola, the Springfield Redevelopment Authorities first female Director Amanda Pham, the city’s first Latina Budget Director Melanie Acobe, Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris, Deputy Chief Administrative and Financial Officer Lindsey Hackett, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Attorney Talia Gee, Licensing Director Attorney Alesia Days and appointing the City’s first African-American female Chief of Staff who now serves as the Executive Director of our Springfield Housing Authority Denise Jordan; I am proud to stand with these smart and capable women as we continue to work together and move our City of Springfield forward for the betterment of our residents and business community.”
