Cheryl Clapprood Sworn In as Springfield Police Superintendent

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno attended the swearing in of Cheryl Clapprood as Springfield Police Superintendent today in City Hall. Clapprood was sworn in by City Clerk Gladys Oyola. Chief of Staff Tom Ashe, Deputy Chief William Cochrane, Sgt. Jaime Bruno, City Solicitors Judge John Payne and Kathy Breck, and retired City Solicitor Ed Pikula were also in attendance.

Mayor Sarno stated, “Congratulations to Springfield Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood.  As previously stated, I continue to have the full confidence in Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood, her leadership team and the brave and dedicated men and women in Blue.  Police Superintendent Clapprood will to lead our Springfield Police Department with more initiatives and reforms and handle all the day-to-day affairs and duties concerning the operations of the Department, including ‘command and control’ of all department members, professional standards, as well as hiring’s, promotions, and as well as assignments.”
