Mayor Sarno Joins Congressman Neal and U.S. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh for Federal Infrastructure Discussion

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined today with Congressman Richard E. Neal and United States Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh for a press conference to highlight and discuss the federal bipartisan infrastructure bill at Springfield Union Station.  Based on the formula funding from the federal legislation, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts would expect to receive about $2.8 billion over five years under the law to improve public infrastructure and transportation.

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno stated, “It was great to be with our U.S. Secretary of Labor, former Boston Mayor and my old friend, Marty Walsh today. We are lucky to have a former Mayor as our labor secretary – mayor’s get it, they understand the need to get things done. I am always appreciative of Chairman Neal’s continued efforts on behalf of our Springfield. Having these direct relationships will continue to benefit the residents and business community of our city. They are both only a phone call away, and I will continue to fight for every dime and initiative – on infrastructure and beyond – to continue to move our City of Springfield forward.”
