Springfield Public Schools Work to Provide Access to Free Online Tutoring 24/7 for SPS Students in Grades 6-12

Students in Springfield Public Schools grades six through 12 now have access to real-time tutoring 24/7, thanks to a new partnership between the district and Paper Tutoring, an online tutoring platform.

“Springfield Public Schools is proud to partner with Paper Tutoring to further emphasize our commitment to equity and access,” said Assistant Superintendent Lydia Martinez. “Paper Tutoring will be crucial in helping us to provide additional individualized academic support for students who need it, and it will help to accelerate learning across our district.”

Whether students are stuck on homework, studying for a test, or need someone to read and make suggestions to their essays, Paper Tutoring experts are available day and night to assist them in any sixth through 12th grade subject through a secure, chat-based platform. Tutoring support is available in English and Spanish.

"We congratulate Springfield Public Schools for taking a giant step towards educational equity by making academic support accessible to sixth through 12th students," said Paper CEO and co-founder Phil Cutler. "Given the urgent need to support large-scale learning acceleration, districts must ensure that they—and not families—are the ones to assume the responsibility of providing access to tutoring,"

Students, families, and community organizations that serve SPS students in grades six through twelve, may access Paper Tutoring by logging onto Clever and clicking on the “Paper” icon.

Martinez added that the 24/7, free, online tutoring program is expected to extend to fifth grade students this January.
