Mayor Sarno and Officials Joined East Springfield Neighborhood Council for First Annual Tree Lighting Extravaganza

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Sheriff Nick Cocchi joined with the East Springfield Neighborhood Council for their first Annual Tree Lighting Extravaganza at Marshall Roy Park. The family friendly festivities included crafts for all ages, refreshments and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. City Councilor Jesse Lederman, Ward 8 Councilor-Elect Zaida Govan and Ayanna Crawford representing State Representative Orlando Ramos were also in attendance.

In addition to lighting the tree, Mayor Sarno wanted to acknowledge and honor longtime East Springfield Neighborhood Council member Guy Kenison who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year.  “Guy was an unsung and quiet neighborhood hero, who always stepped forward to give back to his East Springfield Neighborhood,” Mayor Sarno said.

“Kathy Brown and the entire East Springfield Neighborhood Council do such a great and heartfelt job in representing and advocating for their residents and business community,” Mayor Sarno continued.  “It was good to be with them again.”
