Mayor Sarno Honored to be Recipient of 2021 Providers’ Council Municipal Official of the Year Award

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno is honored and humbled to be selected as a recipient of the 2021 Providers’ Council (Massachusetts Council of Human Service Providers, Inc.) Municipal Official of the Year Award. Mayor Sarno was nominated for this honor due to his exemplary commitment to and support of the Human Services sector.

The Providers’ Council honored Mayor Sarno and other awardees of Excellence yesterday as part of their three-day series of virtual events that are making up their 46th Annual Convention.

Mayor Sarno stated, “I am truly humbled and honored to receive this recognition.  Our human service sector individuals are unsung heroes.  I want to thank both the Gandara Center and MHA for their nomination.  I humbly accept this award on behalf of all my Cabinet heads, down to our dedicated rank-and-file personnel, who have been tested and true through a number of natural and man-made disasters.”

“This award is very special to me, because human service providers ‘do the work of Angels”, even more so during these surreal and challenging times of moving to defeat this COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.  This is a great honor – thank you.”

The Providers’ Council is the Commonwealths Largest Human Services Membership Association and is widely recognized as the official voice of the community-based human services sector in Massachusetts.  For more information, visit their website at www.providers.org
