Mayor Sarno and North End Community Continue Moving Forward with Economic Development

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and members of his administration continue to move forward and work on economic development and other projects in the North End.  Today, Mayor Sarno, joined by Chief of Staff Tom Ashe, Chief Development Officer Tim Sheehan, Mayoral Aide Minerva “Mini” Marrero, and Department of Public Works Director Chris Cignoli, met with local business owner Herbie Flores, State Senator Adam Gomez, State Representative Carlos Gonzalez, New North Citizens Council (NNCC) Executive Director Maria Ligus, NNCC Chief Operating Officer Jose Claudio, School Committee Woman  and NNCC board member Maria Perez, NNCC Director of Youth Services Joesiah Gonzalez, and Executive Director at Partners For Community Daniel Knapik to discuss economic development and growth opportunities in the North End.

Mayor Sarno states, “Although we continue to work around the clock to defeat this COVID-19 Coronavirus once and for all, we must also continue to balance that with an eye toward the future and moving forward with our economic development projects.  My administration had a productive meeting today with business owner Herbie Flores, State Senator Adam Gomez, State Representative Carlos Gonzalez, and the New North Citizens Council leadership who welcomed us for the meeting to discuss ongoing economic development initiatives in the North End – a neighborhood with so much potential and that has come so far. I am looking forward to continuing to work with them as well as Dan Knapik and Partners for Community as we advance our shared economic development goals.”
