Mayor Sarno Offers Congratulations to New U.S. Citizens at Naturalization Ceremony at Historic Springfield Armory

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with U.S. District Judge Katherine A. Robertson, Superintendent of the Springfield Armory National Historic Site Kelly Fellner, Springfield Technical Community College President John Cook and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for a U.S. Naturalization Ceremony on the grounds of Historic Springfield Armory. U.S. District Judge Katherine A. Robertson presided and 24 new citizens from 16 countries gave the Oath of Allegiance

Mayor Sarno states, “As a son of Italian immigrants, I am happy to be with each of these individuals as they officially become citizens of the United States of America. Our country is a melting pot and the traditions brought from our home countries are an important piece of the fabric of our nation.  America is still the greatest Nation on Earth.  We are the beacon of democracy and liberty and the envy of the world.  God Bless the United States of America and God Bless the City of Springfield.”
