Mayor Sarno Joined with Family, Friends and Co-Workers in Wishing SRA Executive Director Chris Moskal a Happy and Healthy Retirement

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with family, friends and co-workers to wish SRA Executive Director Chris Moskal a very happy, healthy and well-deserved retirement. Mayor Sarno congratulated Chris on a magnificent career and presented him with a mayoral proclamation declaring Thursday, July 22, 2021 as ‘Chris Moskal Day’ in the City of Springfield.

Mayor Sarno stated, “Chris has been the utmost professional and his leadership has helped paved the way for numerous projects for our City of Springfield from Union Station, Elm Street, and countless others.  I want to thank Chris and his family his years of service and for his stewardship on the numerous roles he has held throughout his career.  Throughout his almost three-decades with the City of Springfield, Chris has remained a truly humble professional and a distinct pleasure to work with.” 

Moskal began his career in city service with the Springfield Parking Authority.  In 2004, he joined the City of Springfield’s Community Development Department and later joined the Office of Planning and Economic Development as a Senior Project Manager.  Chris served as the Interim Chief Development Officer in 2011 and helped to lead the city’s efforts during the two major natural disasters that hit – the June 1st tornado and the freak October Nor’easter.  Chris has served as the Executive Director for the Springfield Redevelopment Authority since December of 2011 and has helped to move along numerous economic development projects across the city.
