Mayor Sarno stated, “I want to thank Director Christine Judd and her team at Roca for inviting Commissioner Clapprood and I to their facility to tour their building and learn more about the programs they offer. I was very impressed with their operation, especially their services aimed at addressing the trauma our young adults may have experienced from violence and their services offered to our young moms and their children. It was also great to see all those GED graduation certificates posted on the walls too. These services, both direct and wrap-around, are much-needed and vital in helping to address the challenges faced in our community and to break the cycle of violence and focus on a better path that will be beneficial for all involved. I am looking forward to continuing to work with Roca and exploring a continued partnership not just with our Springfield Police Department but with our Department of Health and Human Services too.”
