Mayor Sarno and Senator Lesser Celebrate Summer Reading at Springfield Public Library

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and State Senator Eric Lesser joined with the Boston Bruins and our Springfield Thunderbirds to celebrate summer reading at our Springfield Public Library at the East Forest Park Library Branch. Bruins Mascot Blades and T-Birds Mascot Boomer were on hand to encourage kids, teens and families to keep reading over the summer and for some fun activities.

Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank the Baker-Polito Administration, the Boston Bruins, our State Delegation, and all of our partners, especially our renowned Springfield Public Library and our very own Springfield Thunderbirds for their continued support in helping our children and families stay active and keep reading over the summer.”

The statewide Summer Library Program is sponsored by your local library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Institute of Museum and Library Services with support from the National Women’s Hockey League team Boston Pride.

Founded in 1857, the Springfield City Library provides over 800,000 free print, physical, and digital resources for public enrichment. To learn more, visit www.springfieldlibrary.org
