Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris continue their meetings with the Springfield Vax Force to help efforts aimed at getting our residents vaccinated, especially our younger population which have been lagging in receiving their vaccine shot.

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, “I want to thank our dedicated Springfield Vax Force members for their continued efforts in providing outreach for our residents, especially our younger population.  know it’s the lazy days of summer, but in my regular updates with Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris, even though our overall numbers remain low, there is an uptick with our younger demographics 18-35 and especially 16 years and under. With this new variant, it is imperative and I once again urge our residents to get vaccinated ASAP. Those who are contracting COVID-19 are the unvaccinated. Please, the vaccines are safe and sound and good for you, your family, and our Springfield community. Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris and I will continue to offer numerous neighborhood and events Vax sites. Please take full advantage of our continued public health programs. Your efforts to get vaccinated will bring us all to full public, consumer and business confidence so we can all enjoy our summer and holiday seasons to come.”
