Mayor Sarno Again Urges Residents Young and Old to get Vaccinated ASAP

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, “I know it’s the lazy days of summer, but in my regular updates from Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris, that even though our overall numbers remain low, there is an uptick with our younger demographics 18-35 and especially 16 years and under. With this new variant, it is imperative and I once again urge our residents to get vaccinated ASAP. Those who are contracting COVID-19 are the unvaccinated. Please, the vaccines are safe and sound and good for you, your family, and our Springfield community. Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris and I will continue to offer numerous neighborhood and events Vax sites. Please take full advantage of our continued public health programs. Your efforts to get vaccinated will bring us all to full public, consumer and business confidence so we can all enjoy our summer and holiday seasons to come.”

To schedule your COVID-19 vaccine appointment and for further updated information, please visit the City of Springfield’s website at www.springfield-ma.gov.  In addition, the City of Springfield’s Office of Health and Human Services and the Vax Force will be hosting a Shot for Shot Basketball event and vaccine clinic this Saturday, July 17, 2021, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Forest Park.
