Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with Granny’s Baking Table founders Sonya Yelder and Todd Crosset along with City Councilor Jesse Lederman, Springfield Business Improvement District (BID) Director Chris Russell, BID Executive Assistant Michelle Grout, and BID Marketing Manager Bridget Delaney today for the ribbon cutting ceremony at Granny’s Baking Table located at 309 Bridge Street in downtown Springfield.
Granny’s Baking Table is a joint venture of Sonya Yelder and Todd Crosset and combines two baking traditions; American South and Northern European with a singular commitment to authentic small-batch baking. Mayor Sarno – sporting his cookie socks for the occasion – enjoyed along with his staff, some delicious cookies from Granny’s.
Mayor Sarno stated, “My administration was happy to continue to support and help Granny’s Baking Table survive, and now thrive, through our Prime the Pump grants. Sonya and Todd have created an enjoyable establishment with some delicious pastries, cookies and other fine food. Granny’s Baking Table offers a unique experience and I would encourage everyone to come on down and try some of the wonderful treats they have to offer. I have no doubts that Granny’s Baking Table will become a staple of our downtown for years to come.”
