Mayor Sarno and State Officials Joined with Governor Baker and Lt. Governor Polito at Caring Health Center’s Vaccination Site

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and state officials joined with Governor Charlie Baker and Lt. Governor Karyn Polito at Caring Health Center’s vaccination site on Sumner Ave as the Governor officially declared Wednesday, June 16, 2021 as “Vaccinator Appreciation Day” in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. State Senator Adam Gomez, State Representatives Carlos Gonzalez and Brian Ashe, Caring Health Center President and CEO Tania Barber, and other officials and representatives were also on hand.

Mayor Sarno stated, “I cannot thank Governor Baker and Lt. Governor Polito and their team enough for everything they have done in support of our collaborative efforts in defeating this COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.  From day one, the Baker-Polito Administration have been terrific partners in helping to address our local needs from our COVID-19 response and relief and recovery initiatives, to addressing food insecurities, infrastructure and economic development and job creation opportunities, and the list goes on.”

“I want to thank Tania Barber and her dedicated team at Caring Health Center for standing up this vaccination site.  There continues to be great foot and walk-in traffic,” added Mayor Sarno.  “Working together, from the federal, state and local levels, we were able to not only keep our residents safe but now our Commonwealth is the national leader in vaccinations.  We will continue to provide outreach initiatives to connect with our younger populations so that we can get them vaccinated.  They may believe that they are invulnerable but we encourage them to think of their family and loved ones who may be at risk.”
