State Representatives Carlos Gonzalez, Angelo Puppolo, and Orlando Ramos, and State Senator Adam Gomez presented Mayor Sarno, CAFO Plante and the City’s Finance team with a joint proclamation from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts House of Representatives and Senate acknowledging this honor.
The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and represents a significant achievement for the City of Springfield. The award reflects the commitment from the City’s Finance Department to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. This acknowledgement marks the 13th year in a row in which the city has received this award.
Mayor Sarno stated, “My thanks and appreciation to State Representative Carlos Gonzalez for reaching out to my office and offering to acknowledge the hard work and dedication from our Finance team. CAFO TJ Plante and his dedicated team work very hard to meet the challenging fiscal needs of our urban community while maintaining a healthy and sustainable financial budget that does not mortgage our future. Again, finance work is not ‘sexy’, but having sound fiscal management allows us to do those ‘sexy’ projects to benefit our city. Recognitions such as these go a long way in validating their hard work. Thank you to State Representatives Angelo Puppolo and Orlando Ramos, and to State Senator Adam Gomez for your continued support of our City of Springfield and our dedicated city team. It is truly and deeply appreciated.”
