Mayor Sarno Joined with UniCare for Grant Announcement to the Springfield Boys and Girls Club

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with UniCare General Manager David Morales and Springfield Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Vincent Borello for a grant announcement at the Springfield Boys and Girls Club on Carew Street.  The UniCare Foundation presented the Springfield Boys and Girls Club with a $10,000 grant in support of the club’s Triple Play program that supports the personal health and wellness of our youth.

Mayor Sarno states, “As the former director of the South End Community Center, youth programs are very near and dear to my heart.  I am very appreciative and grateful to UniCare General Manager David Morales, who I have known since his days with former Governor Patrick’s administration, for stepping up to provide such a generous grant to our Springfield Boys and Girls Club from the UniCare Foundation.  He has truly delivered on his word from when we last met about giving back to our community, especially in support of our youth programs.”

Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Attorney Talia Gee also attended the event.  Attorney Gee is a current board member and the former Chairwoman for the Club’s Board of Directors.  In addition, Attorney Gee grew up with the Boys and Girls Club too.

State Senator Adam Gomez, State Representative Carlos Gonzalez, and Ward 1 City Councilor Gumersindo Gomez were also in attendance.
