Reopening Guidelines for the Springfield Police Department

The Springfield Police Department will resume allowing one person at a time in the lobby of 130 Pearl Street for new License to Carry (LTC) and Firearms Identification Card (FID) applications by appointment only.

Beginning Monday March 1st, the Springfield Police Department’s Clerk’s office will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between the hours of 9:00 -11:00am and 1:00 - 3:00 pm, & Tuesday and Thursday between 9:00 - 12:00 pm and 1:00 - 6:00 pm for new LTC & FID applications by appointment only.

You can continue to renew your LTC or FID card by mail.  These requests will be handled on a daily basis as time allots.  Renewal forms for LTC and FID cards are accepted by mail or certified mail, information and renewal forms are available on our website -

Accident or Incident reports cannot be picked up in person.  Please email or call the clerk’s office for information on how to obtain a report. 

Licensing information for hawker, peddler, ice cream vendor, 90 day letters and door to door sales can be found on the website and forms can be mail or emailed to the clerk’s office.
