Mayor Sarno Meets with Governor Baker’s New Director of the Western Massachusetts Office of the Governor

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno met with Governor Charlie Baker’s new Director of the Western Massachusetts Office of the Governor and old friend and former Mayoral Aide Jose Delgado. The discussion included the Governor’s ongoing efforts to defeat the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, the Commonwealth’s COVID-19 vaccination rollout, and the Governor’s H1 Budget.

Delgado was named by Governor Baker as his Director for the Governor’s Western Massachusetts Office in Springfield in December 2020.  Previously, he served as the Director of Government Affairs for MGM Springfield.  Delgado was also a Mayoral Aide for Mayor Sarno from 2010 to 2014.

Mayor Sarno stated, “I want to congratulate my former mayoral aide Jose Delgado on his new position.  Very well deserved and a great choice by Governor Baker.  Jose is a very caring, intelligent and capable individual who is truly passionate about his service to the community.  I also want to thank my good friend Patrick Carnevale for his dedicated service and efforts; we go back to the tornado days.  I wish him continued success in his new position at MEMA.  I am looking forward to working with Jose in his new role with the Governor as we continue to move our Springfield and the Commonwealth forward and defeat this COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.”

Also in the meeting were Chief of Staff Tom Ashe and Governor Baker’s former Director for his Western Massachusetts Office Patrick Carnevale.
