Mayor Sarno Holds First Meeting of 2021 with Springfield State Delegation

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno today held his first meeting of 2021 with the Springfield State Delegation. The discussion included the Governor’s H1 Budget, local aid, Chapter 70 and Chapter 90 funding, the continued COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic relief measures and any upcoming state Bond Bills.

In addition, the Mayor respectfully asked the delegation to refile state legislation including the Mayor’s bail legislation, which was sponsored by Representative Angelo J. Puppolo Jr., Representative Carlos Gonzalez’s banking and lending institution bill for mortgages, and a home rule legislation on penalties for illegal fireworks in the city, which is currently pending before the City Council for approval.

Those in attendance included State Representatives Carlos Gonzalez, Orlando Ramos, Angelo J. Puppolo Jr., Michael Finn, Jacob Oliveira, Bud L. Williams, and State Senator Adam Gomez.  Senator Eric Lesser was represented by his Chief of Staff Stephanie Swanson and Ayanna Crawford was representing Representative Ramos.  Those in attendance for the city included CAFO TJ Plante, Chief of Staff Tom Ashe and Communications Director William Baker.
