Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris joined with the Rotary Club of Springfield President John Perez today as the local chapter of the worldwide service organization distributed a total of 20,000 disposable personal protective masks to the City of Springfield and other organizations serving Springfield’s residents, including Ronald McDonald House, The Gray House, Shriner's Hospital, Open Pantry Community Services, MLK Community Center, The New North Citizens Council, and the Gandara Mental Services of Springfield, MA.

Mayor Sarno continues to give thanks to everyone in our community for stepping up and providing much-needed PPE’s for our dedicated frontline workers. He stated, “Once again, the Rotary Club of Springfield steps up – thank you John Perez and members for your continued and dedicated philanthropic efforts as we continue to work together to mitigate the spread of this COVID-19 Coronavirus. The continued leadership and generosity enables our dedicated frontline workers to continue to do their jobs safely. It is important for us all to remember that face coverings are still needed, even as many of us begin to receive the vaccination to protect us from the COVID-19 virus.”
