Please be advised that the Springfield Department of Public Works (DPW) has modified the solid waste collection schedule to accommodate the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays.
- For residents whose regular collection day is Friday, trash and recycling will not be picked up on Friday, December 25, 2020 and Friday, January 1, 2021. Instead, your collection dates have been moved to Saturday, December 26, 2020 and Saturday, January 2, 2021. Please have your barrels placed out no later than 6:00am on the collection day.
- Yard Waste Collection will continue at least through this week. Please assist the collection crews by making your yard waste as accessible as possible. The collection crews will not be digging out bags and barrels that are completely encased with snow.
- On Thursday and Friday of this week, it appears that temperatures will be in the mid 50's and it is predicted that we will be getting 1.5" - 2" of rain. Temperatures will then go below freezing for a few days. Springfield DPW recommends that residents clear around all of your home's downspouts and outlets to prevent house / basement flooding.
