Mayor Sarno and HHS Commissioner Caulton-Harris Joined with MHA for the Launch of Wellness Without Walls Initiative

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Health and Human Services (HHS) Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris joined with Mental Health Association, Inc. (MHA) President and CEO Cheryl Fasano, MHA Vice President of Resource Development and Branding Kimberley Lee, and the Clinic Director of Bestlife, MHA’s Center for Emotional Health and Wellness, Alane Burgess for the launch of MHA’s Wellness Without Walls Initiative.

The City of Springfield has provided a $20,000 grant to MHA to provide mental health services to local individuals and families in need.  The initiative provides access to therapies for addiction and mental health regardless of insurance. Specifically, for those who are uninsured or underinsured. This initiative will have an immediate positive impact, given the heightened levels of those whose mental health has been challenged during the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.

Mayor Sarno stated, “As we face these surreal and challenging times and work together to do our part to defeat the COVID-19 coronavirus, the stressors each of us face is increased and can become overwhelming. MHA makes sure that anyone – regardless of their current insurance situation – can access the support they need. My/our elegant and eloquent ‘Dr. Fauci’ – Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris said it best, ‘“The blessed of us must help the rest of us.”’ Thank you to President Cheryl Fasano, Vice President of Resource Development and Branding Kimberley Lee, Clinic Director Alane Burgess, and the whole MHA organization for your continued support of our residents and their mental health.”
