Mayor Sarno Announces and Grateful to More Business Challenge Donations to the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno is happy to announce that additional businesses have answered the challenge of giving to our local business community by Dan Roulier of Roulier and Associates during these challenging and surreal times for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts to help those in need.

Reacting to Mayor Sarno’s call for help, David Weeks of Kelly-Fradet Lumber and his wife Kate, and Mike Crowley of Crowley and Associates and his wife Beth have each contributed $12,500 to match the generous donation of $25,000 made by their friends Dan and Jane Roulier to the Food Bank of Western MA.  It is their hope that these contributions will inspire others in the community to help the Food Bank or other worthy organizations during this critical time.

Mayor Sarno stated, “Spurred by Dan and Jane Roulier’s very generous donation of $25,000 and challenge call to our business community, Mike Crowley of Crowley and Associates and his wife Beth, and Dave Weeks of Kelly-Fradet Lumber and his wife Kate, have stepped up to the plate with a very generous donation of $12,500 each!”

“I am thankful that Mike and Dave reached out to me.  They were touched by Dan and Jane’s generosity and humble business challenge call and wanted to help those of us in our Springfield community in need,” said Mayor Sarno.  “Again, with this most generous donation the Food Bank will be able to provide another 100,000 meals for those in need.”

Andrew Morehouse, Executive Director of the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts stated, “It’s so gratifying and reassuring that those who care and have the means do step forward to support our neighbors in need at this critical moment.  We will turn every dollar donated into four healthy meals for households struggling to put food on the table, including those who have lost their jobs due to the impact of the coronavirus on local businesses.”
