This was the second neighborhood council meeting the Mayor and HHS Commissioner held.  Previously, Mayor Sarno and HHS Commissioner Caulton-Harris joined with the board members from the city's neighborhood councils and civic associations for an update on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

Mayor Sarno and HHS Commissioner Caulton-Harris provided a COVID-19 situational update for the neighborhood councils sharing the recent trends of the pandemic across the nation and the Commonwealth and more specifically to the City of Springfield.  In addition, information was shared on the breakdown of positive cases by age group and by zip code.

Mayor Sarno and Commissioner Caulton-Harris shared information on the Commonwealth's Stop the Spread initiative, and the city's partnership with AMR, Baystate Health, Mercy Medical, Fallon EMS and other agencies.  The discussion also included what remedies are being taken and what initiatives are being planned to help mitigate the community spread of the Coronavirus.  Information was also shared on what it means that Springfield is now listed as a "Red" High-Risk community and what measures the City is taking to return to a "Yellow" Moderate-Risk and eventually "Green" Low-Risk community.  Information was also shared on how to celebrate and have a safe Halloween as we continue to work together to help mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus

Also in attendance was Deputy Director of Neighborhood Services Ed Whitley, and Communications Director William Baker.
