Mayor Sarno Meets with Jeffrey A. Fletcher, Collection Owner of African-American Collection

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Jeffrey A. Fletcher (retired New Haven Police Officer/Detective and part-time United States Marshall for the State of Connecticut) Collection Owner of African-American Collection, a collection of over 4,000 artifacts.

This introduction was made by Mr. Evan Plotkin, President of NAI Plotkin, and the meeting included Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris and Chief Development Officer Tim Sheehan in exploring initial discussion in bringing his collection here to Springfield.

Mayor Sarno stated, “With our Springfield being ‘The City of Firsts’, and with the upcoming John Brown movie coming out soon and as stated on Mr. Fletcher’s card ‘The Key to the Future is the Past’.  We feel with Springfield’s rich African-American history, this is a very opportune time to pursue this endeavor.  Stay tuned.”
