Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Chief Development Officer Tim Sheehan joined with Davenport Advisors, the developer of Overland Lofts, for a tour of the economic development project that is part of the city’s Innovation District vision. The Overland Lofts are located at 151 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA.
The $15 million project will transform the old historic Willys-Overland building, which was damaged from the gas explosion in 2012, into a mix use of apartments and retail space. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Also present for the tour was, Shaun Dwyer, Vice President for commercial lending at PeoplesBank, Juan Prieto, co-principal at Davenport, Charles Irving, principal for Davenport, and Sonya Yelder, owner of Souper Sweet Sandwich Shop and Granny's Baking Table.
