Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with Mercy Medical Center today for a Memorial Service in honor of all those who have lost their lives at Mercy in 2020, including those taken by COVID-19. Mayor Sarno also presented a proclamation declaring Wednesday, August 19, 2020 as World Humanitarian Day in the City of Springfield.
This year’s theme for the twelfth annual World Humanitarian Day is #RealLifeHeroes. This global campaign helps to acknowledge and celebrate humanitarians and thank them for committing their lives to helping others.
