As I have stated on a number of occasions “the diversity of our city is one of our greatest strengths”. During these historic and troubling times in our country and our city, it is imperative that we all work together to make our city a better place for all of our citizens. We have made some significant changes recently by declaring Racism as a Public Health Crisis and by creating the Office of Racial Equity. We will continue to make change where necessary. My number one goal is to have a unified city. I will continue to work with all leaders of our community in a spirit of cooperation to move our city forward. I have directed all members of my administration to work to initiate positive change for the betterment of our Springfield. Now more than ever, we must continue our dialogue of understanding and mutual respect. This message, which I will continue to deliver to my cabinet heads to our rank-and-file, all of our citizens, our business community and other community stakeholders. May God continue to Bless our City of Springfield.
