Mayor Sarno Comments on Arrest, “Again”, on Repeat Violent Offender

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, once again, is asking what will it take for our court system hold these repeat violent offenders accountable for their continued detriment actions against our community.

As usual, the brave and dedicated men and women of the Springfield Police Department served and protected our community with great distinction.

20 year old Kenen Monsanto-Maldonado was arrested, again, and will be charged with numerous violations including carrying a loaded large capacity firearm, possession of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and many more.  Mr. Monsanto-Maldonado is no stranger to the SPD.  He was arrested twice in 2019 on heroin trafficking charges and has 24 charges pending, but yet he was out on bail.

Mayor Sarno stated, “I heard the whole pursuit on my radio in between meetings, and the tremendous job our brave and dedicated men and women in blue in cars and on foot, to get this repeat violent offender off our streets and out of our neighborhoods, again with no residents, businesses and officers getting hurt.  What the hell does it take for our courts to keep bad individuals like this locked up?”
