Mayor Sarno stated, “After being made aware of the Farmers’ Market at Forest Park Market Manager Belle-Rita Novak’s Facebook comments/edict of “Don’t bring children to the market”, I have requested Executive Director of Parks Patrick Sullivan and the Parks Commission to review her overall operation of the market.”
“Her comments were very hurtful and discriminating – plain and simple, you can’t do it. This is a public park. I demand an apology and rescinding these comments, which she has no authority to make. I’ve also asked our Law and Health Departments to review this matter. In the meantime, Patrons of our Farmers Market – your children are always welcome,” Mayor Sarno added.
